Call for Letters of Intent

The Acid Maltase Deficiency Association (AMDA) is pleased to announce the opening of the 2026–2027 AMDA Research Grant Program.

The AMDA will award one research grant of up to $150,000 to support research that advances the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, care, and quality of life of individuals living with Pompe diseaseA rare genetic disease in which the body cannot properly break down glycogen, leading to buildup that damages muscles and can affect breathing and, in some cases, the heart..

Researchers are invited to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) outlining their proposed research project. Following review of the Letters of Intent, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal for review by the AMDA Scientific & Medical Review Board (SMRB).

Award Information

• One grant of up to $150,000
• Project period: 12 or 24 months
• Basic, translational, clinical, and patient-centered research will be considered

Letters of Intent Due: October 15, 2026

Applicants should carefully review the LOI Guidelines and complete the required LOI Cover Sheet before submitting.
