On April 20, 2013 the Precast Concrete Manufacturers’ Association of Texas (PCMA of Texas) hosted its Third Annual “Pull for Pompe” fundraiser. Two hundred (200) shooters and one hundred spectators (100) enjoyed a day of friendly competition and family fun at this skeet-shooting event.
According to Chris Lechner, Executive Director of the PCMA: “Pull for Pompe continues to grow at a sustainable rate, providing for a better participant experience each year while continually raising more funds.” And he is right. After expenses, approximately $114,000 was raised by the PCMA through this year’s event!
“After three years, it still amazes and humbles me to see how supportive the PCMA of Texas is to the AMDA and to the Pompe Community. I can’t thank everyone enough for all of their hard work and time that goes towards making this fundraiser such a success,” says Tiffany House (AMDA President).
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the 2013 AMDA Research Grant, which is awarded to a researcher working in the field of Pompe Disease.

About the AMDA: The Acid Maltase Deficiency Association was established in 1995 to assist in funding research and to promote public awareness of Pompe disease. Pompe disease is one of a family of 49 rare genetic disorders known as Lysosomal Storage Diseases or LSDs. Pompe disease is also known as Acid Maltase Deficiency or Glycogen Storage Disease type II. It affects an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 people in the developed world.
About the PCMA of Texas: Precast Concrete Manufactures’ Association of Texas is a group of Texas precast, pre-stressed concrete fabricators that manufacture concrete products for an array of building projects including parking structures, hospitals, schools and multifamily residential buildings.
